Dermalogica BioSurface Press Event

Hi guys ! Hope you are all having a great week so far, 4 day weeks is seriously such a spoil this time of year.

Last week Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to the Dermalogica BioSurface Peel Press Event, where they announced that Dermalogica will be offering a Brand New BioSurface Peel from August . We were all lucky enough to receive a voucher for this treatment as soon as it becomes available here, and I will definitely use it and report back on how it works etc.

The lovely Sonette Donker from Dermalogica had an amazing presentation about the benefits of different types of peels, peels vs exfoliation , therapist vs doctors peels as well as the new range of products used in these peels.

So onto the definition of a peel - It's a controlled burn of the skin with acid.Your skin care therapist will monitor the whole process to identify how many layers of the peel product they will be using .

This is a great superficial peel with NO down time ! And no peeling skin.

The peel depends on :
  • How the skin was primed
  • Areas applied
  • Health of the skin
  • Peeling agents
  • Concentration and pH
  • Number of layers
  • Application techniques
  • How skin was prepped
This treatment will be best in Winter or Spring to minimise the UV exposure. A great UV Sunscreen will also be important as well as a great hydrating moisturiser. This is also a treatment not advised if you have inflamed skin, as the peel will burn . Great home care is also advised.

I'm really excited to go and try out this treatment .. We were lucky enough to also receive 2 amazing products from their "Ultra Calming Range" - The Dermalogica Barrier Cream (which I have been LOVING the last few days ) and the Super Sensitive Shield SPF30 which I will be reviewing soon too.

Thanks again to the Dermalogica Team xxx

How has YOUR week been ??

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ?? Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms. The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each ...

CATRICE TREATMENTS SERUM REVIEW

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How was your week? I totally lost a day with the public holidays and Easter Weekend threw into the mix ... I was pretty convinced today was actually Tuesday. As I mentioned in my New on my Beauty Desk post in February - I got a few Catrice serums from their new range to try out. In total I picked up the Hydro serum as well - so today I will give you a rundown on the three serums I chose from the range to my routine.  Overall - I have a pretty good idea of which ones I love - which ones are good and which ones I'm not 100% sold on.  CATRICE HYDRO PLUMPING SERUM  This serum contains 1.5 %  hyaluronic acid and panthenol to plumps up the skin as well as have a soothing effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is well known to hydrate the skin and absorbs easily into the skin super quickly. I love using Hyaluronic Acid in the morning before applying make-up as it gives me a hydrated base to work with. Honestly, while I did enjoy using this serum - I d...

Inoar Hair Botox Treatment Lowdown and Review

Hi guys. Happy Friday. Today is FREEZING - I'm on my third cup of coffee for the day already . How was your week ? Any fun weekend plans ? Last Sunday I was lucky enough to be invited to try out the new Inoar Hair Botox treatment at Sorbet Dunkeld . As I mentioned before I love the Inoar Absolute Blond range so I was excited to try this treatment - as my hair can always do with a boost. I take great pride in looking after my hair and trying to keep it in tip top condition - especially taking extra steps since going blonder. So ... What is the Inoar Hair Botox treatment ? This is a hair treatment containing fatty acids , argon oil , Shea butter , hydrolysed keratin and grape extract . The treatment is rich in Vitamin A , C and E which will help protect your hair . It's also rich in antioxidants that fight free radicals.  The treatment is pretty easy and not too time consuming - Your hair gets washed, the treatment applied for 30 minutes and then rinsed out.  ...
