Nail care Essentials

Hi guys! Happy Tuesday. How has your week been so far? I'm back at full swing at work again this week, and with school only starting so much later this year, it will be a bit of a juggle with work and holiday life for the kiddo.  Today I'm sharing one of my favourite posts to always do - some of my favourite nail care essentials. Not a lot of you know this but this little blog started out as a nail art/swatches blog for all things nail related back in the day - and has since evolved into so much more. But I still adore nail looks and sharing what I love using.  With constantly sanitizing my hands (even before Corona ) I love using an extremely hydrating hand cream at night. I'll admit during the day I hardly put on any cream (eek!) but at night I love using a super hydrating hand cream. My current favourite - the Avon Concentrated Hand Balm with glycerine and jojoba oil. This hand cream has an extremely thick consistency, is unscented and protects and repairs extremely dry...

Essence Advent Calendar 2017 Day 15 - 24

Hi guys. Happy Friday ! Hope you had a wonderful week .  As promised - today I bring the last instalment of the goodies that was in my Essence 2017 Advent Calendar. I really enjoyed opening the calendar with Alex as he was opening his Lego one daily . This is the second year I got the calendar ( for those of you wondering it's totally different from the 2016 version ) . I will be getting another one next year if Essence decides to bring it to South Africa again. I really like the variety of products you get . So onto the last products.  Essence Nail Polish in The Christmas Story This is a dark vampy colour - although we have Summertime now - I will be keeping this one for Autumn time as I feel it would be perfect. I generally really like Essence nail polish so I'm sure this one will be a winner.  Essence All About Matt! Fixing Powder I have mention this powder before - it really is a favourite of mine. While I prefer loose powder for setting my make-up every ...

Some new Eau Thermale Avène Goodies I'm Trying

Hi guys . Happy Monday. How was your weekend ? It's FREEZING cold in Johannesburg this morning - I know I will need a few cups of coffee and tea to warm up today . ( For my international readers - it's currently the middle of winter here in South Africa) A little while back I decided to try some more goodies from the Av ène Eau Thermale range while stocking up on the Spring Water Spray while I was ordering from Clicks online. It's no secret that I LOVE the Spring Water spray - so I won't review that here again. If you like to read my thoughts on it - you can click HERE . The Cold Cream range looked extremely tempting to try out - and pretty affordable so I decided to give it a go. I have used Cold Creams before and I love the texture and how they work on my skin - so was really keen to try it out. I got three products from the Cold Cream range - The Cold Cream cream , the Cold Cream Hand Cream and the Cold Cream Lip cream.  So onto the products : Eau Thermal...

March Sample Sunday Rundown

Hi guys ! Happy Friday . How has your week been so far ? On Monday I turned 31 - and I celebrated by still being sick and without a voice. Luckily I'm finally slowly recovering from Laryngitis - so I hope to be posting a lot more . If you don't know - I started a series on my social media channels last year where I share my thoughts on a sample I have in my collection every Sunday.  It's always fun for me to "test" a product and give my first impressions on it. Some samples I do get quite a few uses out of - and I got some awesome samples to share with you guys in April & May. So without to much chit chat - let's jump into March samples I tested out - Today #SampleSunday is the Clarins Everlasting Foundation. I bought the full size before the sample - and I wish I tried a sample first. This foundation wore okay, but I wasn't overly impressed with it especially since it's a pricey foundation. I have other foundations I love a lot more a...

My Secret to Soft Hydrated Hands

Hi guys ! Happy Monday . How was your weekend ? If you follow me on Instagram , you would have seen I bought the Sorbet Moisture Infusing Socks a while back -  TAKE A LOOK HERE  . A few days after posting that photo and after the lovely Martie from  LivingLightley  mentioned that she loved the socks and gloves, I decided to go back to Clicks and get the gloves - and I'm so glad I did ( They were on special too - bonus ! )  Sorbet is quickly becoming one of my favourite brands ... I haven't found a product from them I don't love.  I'm already a big fan of all the Sorbet Hand Creams - my favourite being the Age Control one ( pink ) and the Hydrating one ( Orange ) , so I had big hopes for the gloves. The gloves has a layer of gel inside, making sure your hand cream doesn't go to waste and every last drop get soaked up by your skin. I have to be real - the first time you put these gloves on they feel super creepy and gross , especially with...

So enough about my rambling, let me get to the goodies.  1 & 2 - Oh So Heavenly Waterless Hand Cleansers  Here I am not to picky about the scent, I love how you can use this on the go and I always carry some in my bag . You never know when you might need to freshen up and won't be able to quickly wash your hands. (They retail for around R9 each ) 3 ) Essence Gel Nails At Home Super Rich Hand and Nail Cream -  First off, I REALLY like that these are budget friendly. (About R20) This cream is nice and moisturising and absorbs really quickly . For me this is another huge bonus, as I can't sit and wait f...
