August Favourites

Hi guys. Happy Wednesday. How has YOUR week been ? My week has been pretty busy - at home and at work. But it's also been quite a testing week so far. Hopefully it will be a bit calmer from tomorrow.

Today I will be sharing my monthly favourites with you . I found some awesome new products in the month of August that I absolutely love - and I'm sure I will find some new favourites in September too. So without further rambling from me - let's jump into the products.

Hean Face Contour Set
I have to admit - I'm not a fan of duo kits like this. But how... This little set surprised me. I love the shimmery blush (first square ) so much and it's the only blush I used for August basically. The set contains a matte blush too , as well as a more bronze shade and a shade perfect for contouring. I love the contour shade and blush shade - so I've been reaching for it non stop in August .
Hean Luxury Sugar Lip Peeling and Luxury Lip Elixir
It's no secret that I love these two products - if you like to read my full thoughts on them you can click HERE to read my full review. This is the best lip scrub and lip balm type products I have ever tried. I already ordered a back up elixir - that's how much I love the products.
The Ordinary High Adhesive Silicone Primer
I ordered this from Samika as well as a few skincare goodies I'm trying. I love this primer in combination with the Milani foundation I am mentioning too. The combo lasts all day. This primer doesn't blur pores that much , neither does it keep you matte - but this primer ensures that your make-up stays in place the whole day. I love this primer with my more full coverage foundations . The primer is pretty affordable too - another bonus. I paid around R175 for mine.

Lush Sun Solid Perfume
It's no secret that I love the Lush solid perfumes. They are super convenient and easy for travelling to just pop in your bag for touch ups on the go. This scent smells like summer - very citrussy and perfect for this time of year. I pop some on my wrists and behind my ears and I love how fresh and clean it smells.
Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry , be Happy !
I did a full review and wear test on the blog on Monday , so if you missed it you can read it HERE . This has been my go to colour for most of August - since I'm too lazy to do some fun nail art and the polish dries fast and has pretty decent wear time. And it's pink. How can pink nails not make your heart happy ??
Revlon Youth FX Foundation
I will be doing a full review on the range on the blog next week (spoiler - I do love most of the products ) . This is the perfect work foundation for me. I love using this foundation  with the face and neck primer I will be featuring in that post too. This foundation gives a nice medium coverage without settling into the lines on your skin. My forehead is a bit of an issue lately ( I blame stress ) and this foundation lies perfectly on it without emphasising them at all. Which I LOVE. This foundation even has a SPF 20 in - which I love for my everyday foundation as I tend to be pretty aware to use SPF daily especially since adding Retinol in my routine.

Milani Conceal and Perfect 2-1 Foundation  and Concealer
Awww another foundation ? Yes I might be a little foundation obsessed lately. This is the ultimate I want to look flawless foundation for me. This foundation on me is full coverage . I pair this foundation with the Ordinary primer I mentioned above and this foundation stays in place the whole day. When I remove my make-up at night I still notice my blush and bronzer stayed put the whole day. The foundation claims to be waterproof and sweat proof too - might give that a test when summer rolls around.

These were my favourites for the month of August. What was some of your favourite products ??

  1. You have convinced me to try the Ordinary skin care sooner than later. Just wondering if you can use this primer in conjunction with other primers as I need a pore blurring primer.
    Great post.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ?? Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms. The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each

CATRICE TREATMENTS SERUM REVIEW

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How was your week? I totally lost a day with the public holidays and Easter Weekend threw into the mix ... I was pretty convinced today was actually Tuesday. As I mentioned in my New on my Beauty Desk post in February - I got a few Catrice serums from their new range to try out. In total I picked up the Hydro serum as well - so today I will give you a rundown on the three serums I chose from the range to my routine.  Overall - I have a pretty good idea of which ones I love - which ones are good and which ones I'm not 100% sold on.  CATRICE HYDRO PLUMPING SERUM  This serum contains 1.5 %  hyaluronic acid and panthenol to plumps up the skin as well as have a soothing effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is well known to hydrate the skin and absorbs easily into the skin super quickly. I love using Hyaluronic Acid in the morning before applying make-up as it gives me a hydrated base to work with. Honestly, while I did enjoy using this serum - I do prefer the Sw

Farm Animals Friday !

Hi guys ! Can't believe its Friday already ! First off, happy birthday to my brother, hope you have a fantastic birthday today ♥ So Tip Top's facebook page, has been running weekly nail art theme competitions. This week's theme is FARM ANIMALS. Well, usually I don't enter these nail art competitions, but since my little man loves farm animals , I decided to give it a go . :) (I also bummed some of his farm animal toys and books as decoration... Hee hee hee ) The rules are you have to use Tip Top colours... So first off let me mention all the colours I used creating these cute farm animals : French Manicure White, Cream Puff, Peach Crisp, Sherbet Angel, Melting Marshmallow, Lemon Fuel, Black Forest , Twilight and Sexy Bikini ♥ So here follows all the cute pics (sorry this post is a little picture heavy ...) A cow, a piggy, a cow, a duck and a sheep ♥ I just LOVE these cute farm animals don't you ?? My favourite of
