{Seasonal Things} My Favourite Christmas 2019 Advent Calendars

Hi guys ! Happy Friday ! Hope you had a great week so far. Mine has been crazy busy and year end madness is a real thing I tell you. I decided to start a mini series on the blog called SEASONAL THINGS - where I will share some fun gift ideas as I find them - cute decorations as well as anything seasonal.

One of my personal favourites during the Festive Season is the trusty Advent Calendar. If you follow me on Social Media the last few year you will know every year I get a beauty Advent Calendar and unbox it daily on Instagram / Twitter and Facebook . This year will be no different - but I will show you some other good ones I found in the process . I got my dad and brother and Alex one (I'll share which ones ) and some other good ones that I think is worth looking into. And see it as a way of rewarding yourself for a hard working year - and having to get up and go to work before Christmas leave. I can tell you - an Advent Calendar alone can make your mood 100% better .

CafeLuxe Dolce Gusto Compatible Advent Calendar
While I was doing research into advent calendars earlier this year I spotted this little gem. We have a Dulce Gusto machine and have used CafeLuxe coffee pods before - so this something that caught my eye. I decided my dad can join in the Advent Calendar fun this year and got this one for him (he loves coffee )

Essence 2019 Advent Calendar
Now as I mentioned earlier - if you been following me for a while you know I usually pick up an Essence Advent Calendar every year. And this year is no different. This calendar is filled with 24 beauty related products - from brow products , an eyeshadow palette , nail stickers and hand creams - I'm super excited to be unboxing this one with you this year.
The Essence Advent Calendar retails for R539 on Takealot  - but I will say if you are interested in this one add it to your wish list and check the price every morning - I got mine for way cheaper like that one morning.

Advent To Colour Colouring In Book

I saw this one online from Makro - and I was really intrigued . If you like doing colouring for relaxing - I can imagine this will be such an amazing stress reliever to colour in the picture of the day after work. And it's pretty affordable too - which is always a bonus.

This Calendar is available from Makro for R100.

Elf for Christmas 24 Advent Letters 2019 Edition

I discovered the whole Elf for Christmas range in 2017 when Mischief Managed posted about it on Twitter . I ordered us the Little Elf ( His name is Berry McSnowbells ) and we fell in love instantly. The next year I added these Advent letters - it's such well written letters for kids and Alex was so excited to see what Berry our Elf got up to and read what his friends in the North Pole got up too. I already ordered us these 2019 Edition letters too so we can hear what the elves in the North Pole will be getting up to in December. If you don't like getting chocolate ones for your kids - this is such a good set to get.
The 2019 set retails for R259,99 from Elf For Christmas  - but if you are just starting these Edition 1 retails for R149,99 and Edition 2 retails for R199,99 .

Lego City 2019 Advent Calendar

Now if you follow me on Social Media - you know while I post my Essence Calendar one unboxing every morning - Alex joins me in the fun and unboxes his Lego Advent Calendar. I get him the City one as he loves this one the most. The Calendar houses 24 mini easy builds - from a Lego figurine to a snowman , present or fireplace. This makes the perfect add on to decorate his City for Christmas Time ( Lego people need to celebrate too ! ).

The Lego City one retails for R349,99 from Great Yellow Brick  .
Below is some goodies hidden in this year's Calendar.
Lego Harry Potter 2019 Advent Calendar

This is another goodie if you know a Harry Potter or Lego fan. I got this one for my brother as he is a HUGE Harry Potter fan - and as part of his Christmas gift each year I get him a Lego advent as well .Usually he picks the Star Wars one - but this year they added a Harry Potter one to the collection and this was his favourite.  The calendar houses 24 easy to build minis from a mini chess board, the main Harry Potter characters and the House flags.

Overall , these are some amazing ones that caught my eye - do you treat yourself to a fancy Advent Calendar ? Or do you prefer the traditional chocolate ones ??

  1. Those advent calenders are so cute! I think, I would pick something beauty related. Though the one with the coffee capsules also sounds great.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ?? Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms. The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each

A cow, a piggy, a cow, a duck and a sheep ♥ I just LOVE these cute farm animals don't you ?? My favourite of

CATRICE TREATMENTS SERUM REVIEW

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How was your week? I totally lost a day with the public holidays and Easter Weekend threw into the mix ... I was pretty convinced today was actually Tuesday. As I mentioned in my New on my Beauty Desk post in February - I got a few Catrice serums from their new range to try out. In total I picked up the Hydro serum as well - so today I will give you a rundown on the three serums I chose from the range to my routine.  Overall - I have a pretty good idea of which ones I love - which ones are good and which ones I'm not 100% sold on.  CATRICE HYDRO PLUMPING SERUM  This serum contains 1.5 %  hyaluronic acid and panthenol to plumps up the skin as well as have a soothing effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is well known to hydrate the skin and absorbs easily into the skin super quickly. I love using Hyaluronic Acid in the morning before applying make-up as it gives me a hydrated base to work with. Honestly, while I did enjoy using this serum - I do prefer the Sw
