My three picks from the New Tip Top Range

Hi guys ! Hope you had a great weekend ! Mine was pretty busy, it's my little guy Alex's birthday this week Sunday, so was busy getting the last party goodies.

A little earlier this month, I popped into Clicks after the lovely Desle shared a photo on Instagram HERE (if you are not following her already, then pop over and follow her too!) of some new Tip Top polishes. They had a 3 for 2 special.. So I picked up three of their lovely new glittery polishes. These look like indie polishes , and it's such a nice surprise to their collection. Sadly, Tip Top is being discontinued, so if you like any of these shades... RUN !! to Clicks and stock up on these beauties. I only got 3 of the 6 in this collection, there is a purple, orangey red and a black one too.

So onto these beauties -

Tip Top Milkyway -
This is a gorgeous white polish filled with some colourful glitters - yellow, green , orange, light blue, dark blue and red. Application was great, I used 2 coats of Tip Top Milkyway and didn't have any issues what so ever. This is a REALLY pretty girly polish , and I can see myself reaching for this beauty quite often.

Tip Top Love that Shine -
This is a gorgeous pastel pink (think Tip Top Melting Marshmallow ) filled with red, white, green, orange , yellow and blue glitters as well as bigger silver hexagon glitters. This is another beauty - perfection in 2 coats. I love how playful and fun this colour looks .

Tip Top Speck-Tacular -
This is a gorgeous light blue base with small blue and purple glitters. Again, no issues with the formula and again I used 2 coats of Tip Top  Speck-Tacular.  (Excuse the orangey looking hand, I have no idea why my hand turned out so orange here )

Did you get any of the polishes ??? Which one do you like the most ??

Foundation Friday - Revlon ColorStay Foundation Reviews

Hi guys ! Hope you had a great week !

Last year I was lucky enough to get some Revlon ColorStay foundations to try out, and today I'm sharing my thoughts on these foundations.

Revlon ColorStay Stay Natural Foundation -
This foundation is PERFECT for someone that wants their foundation to last -but doesn't want a heavy matte finish. This foundation has a very natural look - perfect for just evening out the skin tone and won't let you feel like you are wearing a foundation mask. This foundation has a SPF15

Revlon ColorStay Stay Active Make-Up with Softflex -
This is a great light to medium coverage foundation and the best part - this is sweat proof yet breathable - so perfect for going to the gym or even for a busy day running errands. I love that this is REALLY long lasting, especially when your active and let's be real after a busy day you still want to look great.  This foundation has an SPF25 .

Revlon ColorStay for Combination / Oily Skin
This is a fantastic formula for oily skin , as this will help you control any shine. This is a medium to full coverage foundation , and to be honest - My favourite one in the range. I love how this makes my skin look flawless (even on days when my skin was FAR from flawless. )
 ColorStay Whipped Creme Foundation -
This has a light and bouncy formula . This formula is sweat, heat & humidity resistant - and it doesn't rub off. This is another medium to full foundation . This is one of the formula's that looks better as the day goes by ... I don't know what magic unicorn technology they use, but this really looks better as the day goes on. This foundation has an SPF 20.

ColorStay Two Way Powder Foundation -
This is a powder formula that you can use wet or dry . Personally .. I love to use it dry or over a BB cream for a little extra coverage. This foundation will give you a medium coverage . I love how this is SUPER easy to pack or throw into your handbag for touch ups before a night out.

So my overall thoughts :
I love the Colorstay range. I apply my make-up around 05h00 in the morning and by 20h00 at  night when I remove my make-up it still looks the same as it looked when I applied it that morning. And being on the go , without too much time for a touch up . (Because lets me real, most days are a little crazy that you don't even have time to look in the mirror during the day. )

I love all of the formula's, but my 2 favourites are hands down the ColorStay for Combination/Oily Skin & The Whipped Creme Foundation .

What's YOUR favourite Revlon foundation ?

Top 3 Cuticle Oils / Butter

Hi guys ! Hope you had a great weekend . Mine was pretty busy, but still enjoyed the break.

Today I'm sharing my 3 Favourite Cuticle Oils / Creams with you guys. I always get a lot of questions to which products I use to keep my cuticles hydrated , and although I have a few more but THESE are my 3 Top ones I reach for the most on a day to day basis.

Lush Lemon Flutter Cuticle Butter
This is a cult classic , and with good reason. This is my favourite cuticle butter / cream. You only use a TINY amount to cover all 10 fingers. ( My tub lasted me about 7/8 months ) This is quite greasy though, so I would recommend you use this just before bedtime or if you know you won't need to touch your phone / computer ect. It does a wonderful job of keeping cuticles hydrated.  And it smells like lemons... Yummy !

 Tip Top Cuticle Oil
This really is liquid gold, this is hands down one of my favourite cuticle oils . It's amazing to keep your cuticles hydrated, and keep hang nails at bay (It's one of the main reasons I love this cuticle oil so much ). Again as with the Lush Lemon Flutter, this is a cuticle oil I prefer before bedtime.

Justine Tissue Oil Cuticle Treatment
This is my top pick from the bunch. Justine Tissue Oil Cuticle Treatment smells like the iconic Justine Tissue oil . This cuticle oil is super hydrating and gets absorbed SUPER quickly. This has really improved my cuticles a lot since I started using it about two months ago, and has since become a holy grail item for me. If your cuticles is super dry , I would recommend this one the most .. as you'll be able to see results within a day or two.

What is YOUR favourite cuticle treatment to use ?

Lapelle Issue 7

See what is in the latest issue of Lapelle Magazine, there are also many prizes to be won.

One of the articles in the magazine this month is about what is bad for your skin.

UNDER MY SKIN
10 EVERYDAY THINGS THAT ARE BAD FOR YOUR SKIN

1. Sleeping with make-up on
Apart from the chemicals and potential allergens in some make-up brands, not washing it off before bed has devastating effects, such as clogging pores, disrupting natural repair and shedding (renewal), and drying out skin, leading to accelerated breakdown of collagen and elastin and even oxidative stress.
Trust us: wash your face, every night.

2. Drinking – and eating – too little water
Without water, skin dehydrates, gets damaged and ages quickly. Every cell in your body needs water to metabolise normally, which is why the eight glasses a day rule is one to live by. But there also seems to be some eating more water-rich foods purported better water absorption.

3. Squeezing pimples
Trying to pop a pimple can do more harm than good: you could push dirt and bacteria deeper into the pores, and you may inflame and damage the subcutaneous follicle and skin tissue leading to more inflammation, bleeding and even scarring. Often, this only leads to more breakouts.

4. Skipping meals – the wrong way
Whether you’re just too busy or trying to lose weight, note that experts say skipping meals messes with your metabolism. There is some evidence suggesting controlled restrictive eating on alternate days holds overall health benefits. But note that your skin needs those essential nutrients and vitamins from food, so skip with caution.

5. Your phone and dirty sunglasses
Anything that comes in contact with your face can leave dangerous bacteria and environmental pollutants behind. And of course you hold your phone right on your cheek, and your glasses rest on the delicate spots just under your eyes and on the bridge of your nose. So, please, carry some antibacterial wipes and keep these items clean.

6. Hair products on your skin
It’s no secret that products such as dye and hair spray contain dangerous chemicals. That’s why you shouldn’t ingest them. But the alcohols and lacquers in hair products, including skin penetrators such as propylene glycol, may dry out your skin and wreak havoc over time. Cover the skin on your face and neck with a clean towel when you apply or spray.

7. Excessive chlorine
Mind the pool water: chlorine tends to react with the water in your body to form damaging acids (free radicals), even when absorbed through skin – hence the dry, patchy skin after loads of swimming. Have a soapy shower after your swim and follow up with your antioxidant-rich moisturiser every time.

8. Over-plucking your eyebrows
Naturally, ripping a hair out of the follicle damages the skin a little. But it’s the repeated pinching and pulling on such delicate skin that could harm collagen and elastin fibres. For proper brow plucking, do it after a warm bath or shower, hold the surrounding skin tight with your fingers and gently pull (don’t pluck) in the direction the hair naturally grows.

9. Passive smoking
Yes, even if you don’t smoke, those smoking around you are contributing to your skin ageing. Cigarette smoke is known for causing poor blood-flow in skin, as well as stimulating the production of MMP enzymes that destroy elastin and collagen.

10. Dirty make-up brushes
These are a breeding ground for bacteria. They collect dead skin cells, oils, dirt and old make-up residue, and then you reapply it to your face every day. Try to brush yours after each use on a damp cloth and let it dry properly before storing. Then, wash them with a product for this purpose or anti-bacterial solution at least twice a month.

Juliette Armand - Exfo Line & Mud Heilmoor Mask

Hi guys ! Happy Wednesday ! Hopefully you are all having a great week, I'm so glad it's finally a little cooler this morning (And I LOVE the rain )... The heat was killing me.

So today I will be reviewing 2 great Juliette Armand masks that is PERFECT to get you back into the work mood.

First off - The Exfo Line Mask :
This mask boosts the skin's natural defence system and helps the skin regain it's natural balance , smoothness & texture. This is a GREAT anti-ageing mask , as well as a great gentle exfoliating mask after a peel. The mask goes on pink with little black beads , and dries clear (with the little beads still visible.) I have been using this mask for over a month now, and I find it perfect when your skin feels a little dry / dull and needs a boost.

Mud Heilmoor Mask :
This is a GREAT firming mud mask - it contains special mud from  Reichenau – Austria with healing properties, It contains amino acids that helps alleviates irritation and restores the skin’s lost vigour. This is a great mask for firming, especially if your skin needs a boost before a big event .

The mask goes on dark like any mud mask, and dries like a normal mud mask, but removal is SUPER easy .

Both these masks are FANTASTIC, my favourite being the Exfo Line Mask, it works super quickly.. So perfect for a weekly treat.

Sorbet - Au Naturelle Set

Hi guys ! First off .. HAPPY NEW YEAR ! I took a little blogging break over the festive season, but I'm glad to be back in full force today. Hope everyone had a great festive season with loved ones.

Today I'm starting off a little mini series like last year - Back To Work - where I will share some of my favourite goodies that are great to help you settle back into work and the new year ahead.

Today I will be sharing a little Sorbet Set that I got for Christmas ( I got a few more sets... But for now I am sharing my thoughts on this little set )

The Sorbet Au Naturelle set contains a Sorbet Melting Moments (a nude/pinkish nail polish) , A Sorbet Base & Top Coat, and a cute cosmetic bag. The colour is perfect for work (As most of you can't wear crazy bold colours to work) & will look stunning on almost any skintone.

Melting Moments is a soft pink-ish nude nail polish. This polish applies like butter and is fully opaque in two coats (If you use thicker coats, you can get away with one, but I prefer using thinner coats ) .

For testing purposes, I used the Base & Top coat included and skipped my usual base & top coat to see how well this performed. It dries to a shiny finish, and dries fairly quickly (BUT ... not as fast as the top quick drying top coats on the market... ) I like the idea of a base & top coat in one , especially for travelling or touch ups at work or home .

The little cosmetic bag is really cute too ! Big enough to pop in the polishes (or any other cosmetics etc... ) and pop into your handbag for touch ups on the go.

Have YOU tried any of the Sorbet polishes ? How was YOUR holiday / festive season ? Any special goals for 2015 ?

You can pick yourself up some Sorbet nail polishes at Clicks & Sorbet Stores.
