{Kids Style} Fortnite Styled Shoot

Hi guys! Happy Friday. How has your week been so far?  Christmas Time is fast approaching - and I know with Covid kids really got into games this year. I know I for once have been WAAAAAAYYYY more lenient about Alex enjoying playing games - and this year he really got into Fortnite and Minecraft - so I have a fully-fledged gamer in the house now.  One day I spotted the most gorgeous Fornite masks on Instagram from  Naughty Monster Design (that was WAY cheaper than any other ones I saw and decided to order them for Alex. He adored them and couldn't wait to wear them to school to show off. They are also super comfortable with the double strap that goes behind the head - something Alex prefers on school days. Alex was lucky enough to get sent some more masks as well as a gorgeous Fortnite Summer shirt - they do the most gorgeous hoodies as well. So today we will be sharing some photos of him rocking the masks and shirt.  Again, thanks so much  Naughty Monst...

{Lifestyle} Avon Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How has your week been ?? Over the weekend it was the annual Avon Breast Cancer Awareness Walk - this Year they were celebrating the 15th year of the walk - but because of Covid - this is the first year that the walk happened virtually - so that meant we could join in the fun . Usually, this event takes place yearly in Johannesburg - so it allowed so many more people to join in on the fun this year. Everyone could do it out and about in their own neighbourhood and support this cause. I do hope they will continue to offer a virtual offer next year too - as everyone all over SA could take part.   Every one  of the participants got a T-shirt to wear on the day as well as a gorgeous buff, a goodie bag and some fun products to use on the day. Some of the fun goodies in the goodie bag were sunscreen, hand sanitizer, protein bar and shake to use on the day. Alex and I opted for the 4km walk (there was an 8km option too ) and we had loads of fun wearing ...

{Lifestyle} What I've learned during Lock-Down

Hi guys! Happy Thursday. How are you doing? Still, holding up in this Lock-Down time ?? I'll admit that if I'm 100% honest - I was hoping to be back at work again in full force .. but instead, I'm still working from home and homeschooling. Although I am not loving it every day- it has opened my eyes and made me realize some things that I do know that was missing from my daily routine pre-lockdown and I'm sure a few of you might relate. The Importance of Friendships Yes - I do have my best friends that I talk to daily (and still do !) but I love how we talk more about meaningful and silly things now. We have a policy that we do a "Proof of Life" selfie daily - so no matter how meh you feel or look, or if you have a glammed up day or just a day of Netflix and Chill - you have to send a photo of yourself for the day. That and video calls have made the WORLD of difference. Now we talk to each other's pets and other half, pets ... you name it.  I'm...

A Little Life Update.. and a lesson in Gratitude..

Hi guys! Happy September ... although we are more than halfway through September by this rate. And Happy Friday too. (And Happy long weekend if you took off Monday to score an extra day) I really do try to not completely disappear from blogging but with all the woman and child murders in South Africa in Woman's Month none the less - social media became a bit of a dark place for a lot of us. That combined with normal life stresses of dating, motherhood and work thrown into the mix - I had a super hard time in general. And anxiety added to the mix didn't help at all. But all doom and gloom aside ... blogging is something I do love doing ... and I miss when I do take a break from.  So while a lot of hard stuff happened over the last few weeks - my bestie Siobhan reminded me that sometimes we have to look at the positive stuff in all the bad things. I'm so grateful for having such an amazing friend that reminds me yes ... life sucks a little now .. but it won't foreve...

Life Update April 2019

Hi guys! Happy Monday and Happy middle of April! So it's been almost forever since I did I post here on the blog - I did have some content scheduled but I deleted it as it was a "What's in my Make-Up" bag for travelling as we had a family holiday scheduled middle of March.  Sadly ... the day before we were due to leave - my Mother sadly passed away from a heart attack. This was very sudden and has been such a devastation for me and my family. My mom has always been my rock in my life - so I really took it very hard.  I would like to thank each and everyone who sent me messages of love and support on social media at this time too - I really appreciate each and every message I received. To be honest, I didn't have any issues with turning 33 this year - but I just couldn't bring myself to celebrate this year as my birthday was so close to her passing away and her funeral. BUT - my brother and Alex did throw me a mini flamingo party with the cutest Flami...

{Book Review} Exclusive Books 5 for R200 Sale February/March Books

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How has your week been so far? Mine has been super busy at work - and home life has finally settled down a bit again too.  As promised in my 2019 post - I want to do more kids related posts on the blog too. Today will be the first post. Reading in our home is a big deal. I have tons of kids book and I add to them regularly. We make a point that no matter what to read a book every night. Alex was one of the Top 10 Readers in his Grade last year and as an educator myself, I can't stress the importance of reading. I prefer to keep these books in my little (although it's not so little anymore Library short and sweet stories - so I know it won't take us more than 10 minutes to read.) He does, however, have his own bookcase with books he can read anytime he feels like reading. One of my favourite book deals to be on the lookout for - is the Exclusive Books 5 for R200 deal they have from time to time. February and March is another special month and ...

2019 Goals

Hi guys ! Happy Wednesday and most importantly Happy 2019. The blog has been quiet the last few months - I was going through some personal things and I know I neglected my little space on the Internet . I have however been posting on my social media platforms - so if you aren't following me there yet feel free to give me a follow. There are a ton more pretty pictures as well as mini reviews on my Instagram , Facebook and Twitter .  So let's jump into the topic up for discussion today - 2019 Goals. Have you set any new goals for yourself yet ? I don't believe in New Year's Resolutions - but I feel setting small goals for yourself along the way is much much more achievable. 2018 wasn't the best year for me personally - my mom got sick numerous times and was admitted to hospital (even on my  birthday ) ... went through a break-up (which let's be real always sucks ) and just felt drained and overwhelmed at work. BUT that being said - I'm also thankful ...

Today I'm sharing some of my current favourite Netflix shows.  Now if you know me you know I hardly EVER watch TV .... so when I discovered Netflix I try to do my Mini Pamper Time while chilling out with a good coffee , face mask / painting my nails and doing my nails. I like to catch a movie too on my free morning when I know Alex is at school and I can truly enjoy some me-time. Now I know everyone has extremely different tastes in movies and T.V shows ... so please leave me some suggestions of your favourite Netflix shows to watch too - I'm always looking for new shows to watch and enjoy . To All The Boys I Loved Before If you don't believe in love this movie will change your mind. Lara Jean wrote 5 love letters and hid the...

{LIFESTYLE } Gutsy Green - Is it worth it ? My mini review on my first meal week

Hi guys ! Happy Wednesday. Hope you are having a great week so far. Today I have a bit of a lifestyle post for you guys - and it is all about food. Yum ! A little while ago I discovered a great company called GutsyGreen  that delivered all the ingredients to make amazing meals at home . The site is pretty fool proof - you decide on the package you need ( I got the one for 4 people ) and the meals you would like. You can pick the ones that's recommended according to your dietary preferences or pick the ones you would like to try. In my case I picked three meals . They have different options so the choices are endless. What I love most is YOU get to pick what you would like to eat based on any lifestyle preferences. They have classic meals , vegetarian and low carb meals. The ingredients gets delivered in the exact pre-portioned fresh ingredients on Mondays - and the recipes are pretty easy to use and make. You can also choose to skip a week .. and decide when YOU wa...
