Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquer Mattes

Hi guys. Happy Friday. How has YOUR week been ?? Mine has been pretty crazy busy - but I'm sure next week everything will be back to normal again.

Today I'm sharing a highly anticipated  post with you guys - I got so many requests on Instagram to show off these lippies with swatches as quickly as possible. So without let's jump right into the swatches and a little more about the formula. Avon send me four of the shades to try out but I bought two more to share with you guys.

These lippies smells amazing. They have a faint fruity scent - which I love. The formula is nice and mouse and applies easily.  I love how the applicator is nice and pointed making doing your cupid's bow super easy. The formula is nice and matte but doesn't dry out your lips - it leaves your lips pretty comfortable. These lippies does transfer a teeny tiny bit - so you will notice it leaving marks on your coffee cup during the day. It won't survive a greasy lunch though- then again I didn't expect it to . Then it can go the whole day. I don't mind popping it into my handbag and just touching up before I fetch my son from school.

So onto some swatches for you guys -

The colours from left to right :

  • Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Irresistible
  • Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Man Eater
  • Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Fabulostity
  • Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Dare To Bare
  • Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Pinking About You
  • Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Whipped Latte

Now onto some lip swatches for you guys -

Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Whipped Latte This will be no secret - I LOVE a good nude and this one is fantastic. This is a more beige toned nude . This is a very light nude - which I love but keep that in mind that there is a darker nude if you don't like this one.
Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Pinking About You Again - no secret here. This is a Lynette colour and I absolutely adore this shade. This colour is hands down my favourite one to wear daily.

Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Dare To Bare
This is a darker nude - so if your skin tone is darker than mine you might prefer this one more. It's a gorgeous brown toned nude and perfect for everyday wear.
Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Fabulosity
Man how I love purple lipstick. Personally it looks horrible on my skin tone - but I love looking at purple coloured lip products. I did find this colour to be a little bit trickier to work with - you might need a second coat for this colour. If you can pull of purples - I will recommend this beauty.

Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Man Eater
This berry toned lippy is gorgeous. Formula wise this is super easy to work of and not at all streaky or patchy. I don't like berry toned lips on me personally - but man oh man I can see my mom would love this colour all year round.
Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer in Irresistible
I think this is a more of a darker coral / orangey red. This is such a gorgeous colour and I got a few compliments wearing this shade even though it was out of my comfort zone. I can see this colour being perfect for a date night or if you prefer a gorgeous summer red .

Again , these are some of the best matte lippies on the marker - and they are pretty affordable too. These are on special in September and October for R84,90 each - which makes them pretty affordable to try out. The range consists of 12 beautiful pigmented colours.

Have you tried these lippies yet ?

What lippy colour is your can't live without shade ? Mine is hands down a good nude or a milky light pink .

* 4 of these lippies were sent for review. All thoughts are my own *

Glamore Insanely Romantic Eyeshadow Palette

Hi guys. Happy Wednesday. How has your week been so far ? Mine has been incredibly busy at work- I'm pretty sure this time of year everyone feels like that.

Last week Monday Glamore Cosmetics launched a new eye shadow palette - Insanely Romantic Eyeshadow Palette . This 8 piece eye shadow palette consists of 5 pigmented metallic shimmers including some Plum shades ,a Green and Champagne colour , 1 semi metallic vanilla shade as well as 2 ultra smooth matte shades in Grape and Peach.

As with all the Glamore Cosmetics products - all the products are hypo-allergenic and cruelty free.

It's no secret that I'm more of a nudes girl - but those plum shades in the palette did tempt me to pick it up to try.

So onto some swatches of this palette.Overall all the colours swatches nicely and the shades blends like a dream - they are soft and very easy to use.

The first row of eyeshadows

I personally feel these are all colours out of my comfort zone - BUT I can't wait to create an eye look with these colours. That matte grape shade is GORGEOUS ! The peach shade is such a gorgeous transition shade and the champagne will make a gorgeous inner corner highlight. The pink / plummy metallic shade is really stunning - I can't wait to try it on my eyes.
The second row of eyeshadows

The first three colours are all stunning and I can see myself using them a ton . I do love the metallic shades here ... They are breathtakingly beautiful. I love how the vanilla shade can be used to highlight the brow-bone or for a subtle inner corner highlight. The green is a little out of my comfort zone - but I am convinced it will look stunning with the plums and purples in the palette.

Overall , I am very impressed with the quality of this palette - as well as the amazing service from Gael and the Team at Glamore Cosmetics

They have another newly released palette Glitter Show 12 piece Eye Shadow Palette that's just as stunning and beautiful - It makes me wish I could be an unicorn and wear glitter eye shadows everyday .

I will be sharing a fun date night look on the blog soon featuring some products from Glamore Cosmetics - so keep an eye out for that post too.

Summer Ready feet with Avon Footworks

Hi guys . How has your weekend been ?? I took a mini blogging break last week as I was super busy at work . I loved the rain we had in Johannesburg last night - How I love rain and a good thunderstorm.

Today I am sharing some of my favourite products that I'm currently using to get my feet in tip top shape and sandal ready for summer ( I say summer as here in Johannesburg we seem to have skipped spring and jump straight into summer ) .

I ordered some new  goodies from the Avon Footwork range (that smells like coconuts ! Yum ! ) and then I got send the new Avon Footcare Electric Rolling Pedi Tool as PR and decided to start testing it out directly. Because let's be real - when the weather warms up you want your feet in sandals and no one wants ugly crusty feet then .

Avon Electric Rolling Pedi Tool  R279

This is a unique way to conveniently smooth and pamper your feet at home. The Electric Rolling Pedi Tool comes with two different intensity levels and a brush to dust away any dead skin. The rollers are infused with Micro-Crystal Technology  for instantly smooth smooth results as it buffs away hard skin in seconds. I am currently using the normal rolling head - and I can tell you it really works wonders .
Avon Footworks Exotic Paradise Range (All three for R99 )

I love the Avon Footwork range - and when I saw a new limited edition scent in the catalogue I knew I had to try it. The trio includes a Scrub to exfoliate your feet, a Cooling Spray to Refresh your feet and a Lotion for instant hydration. The range is enriched with coconut and naturally derived sea based plant extract to leave your feet refreshed and comforted. The range smells like a tropical island in a bottle.

I love the foot soak as a weekly treat before I do my pedi at home. I love the Cooling Foot Spray after a long day as a treat or after a work out to refresh my feet before I go on with the rest of the day. The lotion is perfect for night time to make sure your feet stay soft and smooth through summer / or spring since I'm technically jumping the gun here.

I love how easy this range and new additions makes a at home pedi and helps you look after your feet.

What are some of your secrets for soft smooth feet ?

* The Avon Footworks Electric Rolling Tool was sent for review - all opinions are my own*

New On My Beauty Desk - September Edition

Hi guys. Happy Friday. How was your week ?

Today I'm sharing all the new products I will be trying out in September.

OGX Sea Mineral Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner
While I love Purple shampoos - I try to not use them more than once / twice a week. I ran out of my favourite "Everyday" shampoo and wanted to try something new. I have used it once or twice , so it's still to early to say if I love it or not. I got these on sale at Dischem - so that was one of the main reasons I decided to try it. This shampoo and conditionerclaims to quench dry stiff hair and make it super soft and shiny. Will report back as I do highlight my hair now and that does dry it out quite a bit.

Avon True Colour Foundation , Nail Polish and Avon Mark Liquid Lipsticks
I got some PR goodies from Avon , that I will be testing out and doing a review or two on the blog. I will definitely be doing a swatch post for the lippies with arm swatches as well as lip swatches and a full review on the foundation too.
Skin Strategy Anti-Ageing Face Masks
I'm a huge fan of these sheet masks, and while I love the Soothing and Calming one in the range , the Dischem I popped into didn't have stock of them , so I decided to opt for these instead. I have tried them before , and they are really good quality sheet masks that are pretty affordable. I love putting on a sheet mask after a rough day , watching CSI and just chilling.
Hean Ulti-Mate Lipgloss in Milky Rose and Unicorn Bag
I recently fell in love with GlamoreCosmetics - and I really feel their lip products really work for me. I got two liquid lippies and decided to give the gloss a go. I love the gloss so much. It keeps your lips so hydrated without being to sticky and the colour is super gorgeous. The Unicorn bag was to cute to pass on - I will definitely be using it when I travel to pop in my everyday essentials.
Milani Even Touch Powder Foundation and Milani Colour Statement Lipstick in Dulce Caramelo
Milani South Africa had a sale on the combo - and I decided to give them a try. My normal powder I have in my work make-up bag was getting broken and I needed a new one. I know this is technically a powder foundation - but I read a few reviews that the coverage is very good so it was perfect for my work bag to touch up during the day. The mirror in the compact is also pretty awesome and the sponge pretty decent. The lippy is also gorgeous and perfect nude to pop into my work make-up bag for a touch of colour. The colour has a gorgeous almost glitter sheen to it - so far I'm really loving it. And it smells like watermelon - best summer scent ever.

I will be doing a few full reviews on some of these products - if I mentioned anything you would like a review on feel free to suggest it in the comments.

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend ??

August Favourites

Hi guys. Happy Wednesday. How has YOUR week been ? My week has been pretty busy - at home and at work. But it's also been quite a testing week so far. Hopefully it will be a bit calmer from tomorrow.

Today I will be sharing my monthly favourites with you . I found some awesome new products in the month of August that I absolutely love - and I'm sure I will find some new favourites in September too. So without further rambling from me - let's jump into the products.

Hean Face Contour Set
I have to admit - I'm not a fan of duo kits like this. But how... This little set surprised me. I love the shimmery blush (first square ) so much and it's the only blush I used for August basically. The set contains a matte blush too , as well as a more bronze shade and a shade perfect for contouring. I love the contour shade and blush shade - so I've been reaching for it non stop in August .
Hean Luxury Sugar Lip Peeling and Luxury Lip Elixir
It's no secret that I love these two products - if you like to read my full thoughts on them you can click HERE to read my full review. This is the best lip scrub and lip balm type products I have ever tried. I already ordered a back up elixir - that's how much I love the products.
The Ordinary High Adhesive Silicone Primer
I ordered this from Samika as well as a few skincare goodies I'm trying. I love this primer in combination with the Milani foundation I am mentioning too. The combo lasts all day. This primer doesn't blur pores that much , neither does it keep you matte - but this primer ensures that your make-up stays in place the whole day. I love this primer with my more full coverage foundations . The primer is pretty affordable too - another bonus. I paid around R175 for mine.

Lush Sun Solid Perfume
It's no secret that I love the Lush solid perfumes. They are super convenient and easy for travelling to just pop in your bag for touch ups on the go. This scent smells like summer - very citrussy and perfect for this time of year. I pop some on my wrists and behind my ears and I love how fresh and clean it smells.
Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry , be Happy !
I did a full review and wear test on the blog on Monday , so if you missed it you can read it HERE . This has been my go to colour for most of August - since I'm too lazy to do some fun nail art and the polish dries fast and has pretty decent wear time. And it's pink. How can pink nails not make your heart happy ??
Revlon Youth FX Foundation
I will be doing a full review on the range on the blog next week (spoiler - I do love most of the products ) . This is the perfect work foundation for me. I love using this foundation  with the face and neck primer I will be featuring in that post too. This foundation gives a nice medium coverage without settling into the lines on your skin. My forehead is a bit of an issue lately ( I blame stress ) and this foundation lies perfectly on it without emphasising them at all. Which I LOVE. This foundation even has a SPF 20 in - which I love for my everyday foundation as I tend to be pretty aware to use SPF daily especially since adding Retinol in my routine.

Milani Conceal and Perfect 2-1 Foundation  and Concealer
Awww another foundation ? Yes I might be a little foundation obsessed lately. This is the ultimate I want to look flawless foundation for me. This foundation on me is full coverage . I pair this foundation with the Ordinary primer I mentioned above and this foundation stays in place the whole day. When I remove my make-up at night I still notice my blush and bronzer stayed put the whole day. The foundation claims to be waterproof and sweat proof too - might give that a test when summer rolls around.

These were my favourites for the month of August. What was some of your favourite products ??

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ??

Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms.

The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each nail. The point of the brush is also rounded - making application around the nailbed super duper easy.

Now as I mention in all my wear test posts - I am really rough on nailpolish. I'm a single mom , so cooking cleaning and scrubbing does take it's toll on your nails quicker. And at work I wash my hands a lot since I do work with kids and I use quite a bit of hand sanitizer too. But I will also mention a little hand cream and cuticle balm does help the longevity of the polish too.

Day 1 : Fresh mani that looks perfect.
Day 3 : I haven't had any chips yet and the colour was still super shiny
Day 5 : As you can see in the photo above - I did start to get little tip wear and did manage to get a little chip on the middle finger (circled in pink )
Day 7 : I was actually impressed - yes - the nails didn't look 100% perfect anymore (as I started to get a few more chips too as circled in the photo - but for the most part it looked pretty okay still . Yes it wasn't perfect - but I would easily still be comfortable going out with the small chips on my nails.

While it didn't stay perfect for the full 7 days - this lasted pretty well on me. As I mentioned - a little hand cream and cuticle gel / oil / butter will keep the nails and cuticles hydrated and make the colour last longer chip free too. If I skip these steps I did notice my colour would chip quicker .

Will I recommend the polish ? Yes ! I really loved the drying time , the colour and the staying power.

Have you tried any of the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers before ??

Hean Lip Elixir & Sugar Scrub Review

Hi guys . Happy Friday . How has your week been ?

In my August New On My Beauty Desk post , I mentioned I got the Hean Luxury Lip Elixir and Sugar Lip Peeling from Glamore Cosmetics .As I mentioned in that post - after coming home from holiday I had the most horrible reaction to a food allergy. That results in me having huge sore swollen puffy lips. I ate a little bit different being away from home - so I know I was totally to blame for the allergy.

My lips started peeling lightly - so I turned to my Lush lip scrub which I used to love. Sadly that was way to harsh and resulted in my lips looking worse and hurting a lot more.

Glamore Cosmetics was running an awesome Woman's Day sale , and I decided to finally bite the bullet and try some products that I have been eyeing in there store. The promotion also had a lippy free - and while I knew my lips was way to sore to even think about lip products , I desperately wanted to try it so it made ordering the ideal time. But enough rambling about my sore lips - onto the actual review on the products that saved my lips and made then look 100% normal again .

Hean Luxury Lip Elixir
The Lip Elixir is hypoallergenic and cruelty free - and this was one of the main reasons I decided to try the combo out. This is a thick emollient balm that you can apply on your lips - preferably after using the Sugar Lip Peeling scrub. This helps prevent your lips from chapping and drying out - which is my biggest problem.  The Lip Elixir contains lipids from Lanolin for smoothing , Seeds from Meadow Foam Oil for moisturizing and Shea butter for regenerating properties. This is by far the best lip treatment I have ever used - nothing has made my lips so soft and supple like this Elixir. It took away the itching lips , and helped them heal within a week of just using the combo.

Hean Sugar Lip Peeling
This is an awesome lip scrub that you can use daily for smooth chap free lips. It has a rich hydrating formula that will carefully condition the lips and restore them to health. The ingredients - Seeds from Meadow Foam Oil for moisturizing , macadamia nut oil for greasing , vitamin E for nutritive and it's enriched with gold sugar particles. This is truly a soft gentle easy to use scrub that will remove dead skin without hurting or stinging your lips.  You gently massage this into your lips and leave on for a minute or two. Then I gently remove it with a soft washcloth and some warm water and follow with the Lip Elixir . This is another product that I can't rave enough about - the product is gentle yet effective .

Overall - I can't praise this product enough - it was truly a lifesaver. If you struggle with dry chapped lips - this product will be a game changer.

Glamore cosmetics stocks a wide range of skincare products as well as other make-up goodies that's all cruelty free and hypoallergenic.

Do you have fun weekend plans ??

Mini Lather Me Up Haul

Hi guys ! Happy Wednesday .

A little earlier in the month - while browsing Instagram - I spotted LatherMeUp - and I was excited to try out the products and test them out for myself . (My honest reason was spotting that Owl Coffee Massage bar - because I love owls and Coffee ) . If you follow me on social media - you might have spotted that I already use and love the Lush Coffee Massage bar - so I was very excited to order some goodies to try.

She currently has 4 massage bars in her range and I picked up two of them . I suffer from an extremely sore neck from time to time - and stress and a busy lifestyle does make it worse sadly. So I love using massage bars to ease the tension a bit.

Gliding Bean Massage Bar (R45 )
This was my number one reason for ordering. Because Owls ... And Coffee. I haven't used this one yet as I can't bring myself to ruin the little owl- but it smells incredible yummy.
Honey Bear Massage Bar (R40)
This massage bar is shaped into a cute little bear , and has a faint scent of honey - nothing too overpowering . I have used this one and it's incredible. After a long day I rub the little bear all over my body for a moisture boost as well as relieving stress .

She does a wide range of products , but the next products I wanted to try out was two of her craft soaps.
Under The Sea (R30)
This soap smells incredible - just like yummy blueberries. I love how the soap looks like a piece of the ocean.  I got this one one for my son Alex (as he loves anything beach related ) and he LOVES the scent of this soap . It's really hydrating on his skin too - which is good since some soaps tend to dry out his skin.
Passionate Susie ( R30 )
I got this one for me - as I don't love floral soaps and it's hard to find a great soap that's not overpowering with floral tones. I love the passion fruit scent - this scent is great for feeling more awake in the cold mornings and smelling incredible too.

All the products in the range looks incredible - and I can't wait to order again.

My picks from the Essence Wake Up , Spring ! Range

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ??

Today I am sharing my picks from the Essence Wake Up , Spring ! Range. As always this collection was another gorgeous limited edition collection - and I was happy when I saw my Clicks was still pretty fully stocked. This time round though - the nailpolishes didn't intrigue me at all - but I will be sharing the three items I did decide to pick up.

Essence Wake Up , Spring Blush in Hello Sunshine !
There is apparently two blushes in the range , but my Clicks only had one. Again - did Lynette need another Blush in her life ? No. Did Lynette buy said blush in any case - Yes ! This blush was a little less pigmented than I hoped - but it's a nice gorgeous subtle everyday colour. I don't gravitate to peachy blushes in Winter - so I haven't used this one too much - but this will look stunning when the weather warms up.

The Blush can be folded up to reveal an integrated mirror - which is pretty cool and can make touch ups on the go pretty easy.  The colour isn't too pigmented - making it easier for beginners but is pretty buildable .

Essence Wake Up, Spring Blush Brush
Honestly - I didn't buy it to use for blush. The brush is pretty narrow with synthetic bristles - but is perfectly shaped for contouring. This was the main reason I got the brush (that and it's pretty cute too.) So far I love it to use for contouring or bronzer .

Essence Wake Up , Spring Eyeshadow Palette in Spring It Up !
Another goody I'm always looking forward to with every new Essence Limited Edition collection is usually the eyeshadow palettes . The quality is always nice and buttery and they make great add ones into your make-up collection. I love how small and travel friendly these palettes are.

The collection consists of four shimmery pink shades and a silver / white shade that can be used for a highlighter. I love how soft and springtime appropriate this collection looks and feels. As always - this is such a nifty palette . I don't usually stray from nudey toned eyeshadow - but I got this palette to swatch and then gift to my mom as she LOVES every single Essence limited edition palette - and this one is no different.

The collection does include some fun eyeliner pens , highlighter pen , lip balm , lipstick pens , a few cool nail and nailpolish related goodies too. These where the ones that caught my eye though.

Did you get anything from this collection ?? What's your favourite product to pick up from Essence Limited Edition ranges ??
