My Picks from the Essence Lights of Orient Collection

Hi guys ! Happy Thursday . How has your week been ? I'm still super sick - which sucks - I'm hoping to be better by my birthday next week.

Oriental beauty express! Let essence take you on an exciting journey into the world of 1001 Arabian Nights with the new trend edition “lights of orient” from March 2017 and dive into the oriental culture. The pulsating bustle around the souks, desert landscapes with magnificent Bedouin tents and the temperamental rhythm of the belly dancers – the unique flair fascinates all visitors. And the oriental look with deep black eyeliner and golden highlights is also impressive. The colour scheme of this bronzing edition is as warm as the Arabian sun with cream, gold, copper and various nuances of red. There are many treasures just waiting to be discovered, including a beautiful bronzer in an oriental design with a matt bronzing texture and shimmering golden powder in the centre. The matt lipsticks in trendy oxblood as well as two additional red tones and the golden body tattoos are particularly eye-catching on tanned skin. The body splash with a warm, floral fragrance

Since I've seen the promo shots from Essence when this collection lauched - I knew there where goodies that I just love and felt I needed in my collection. Luckily on Monday I was walking past a Clicks with the collection packed out - so I knew I had to get the items on my wish list. The collection also has gorgeous bronzers , lipsticks and a fragrance spray (as well as body and nail tattoos . eyebrow shapers and a gorgeous highlight stick ). As always I was most drawn to the eyeshadow palette and the polishes. The limited edition Essence nail polishes and eyeshadow are always breath takingly beautiful in my opinion.

I wish I needed a bronzer , as the collection does have two gorgeous ones - but sadly I can't justify buying another one for my collection.

Essence We ♥ Arabian Nights.  R84,95
I love Essence eye shadows - they are my go to eye shadows on a daily base. I love the formula and along with the Essence I love Stage eyeshadow primer my eyeshadow last the whole day.

This palette includes 6 gorgeous warm toned shades to create a gorgeous nude eye look or a more smouldering smokey eye. The palette has such a gorgeous design on the case - it's really such a stunning palette to look at .

The eye shadows are smooth and buttery - I did find the darkest matte brown shade a little patchy - but nothing too bad to not want to use it. The mauve colour is gorgeous and I can see myself reaching for this palette often.

Again it's super affordable - so if you like the palette colours - I suggest you head to your nearest Clicks and find them as you know the Essence Limited Edition goodies always sells out super fast.

Swatches of the  six colours - as you can see they are all super pretty. The lightest shade offers the perfect inner corner highlight on the eyes.

essence lights of orient – nail polish
Colours of orient. Gold and purple with metallic effects as well as rosewood and oxblood with a high-shine finish provide the nails with long-lasting colour and great coverage. Available in 01 golden gate to orient, 02 the sultan's daughter, 03 princess jasmines choice and 04 belly dancing queen. R38,95

01 . The Golden Gate to Orient
Okay , so I'm not a big golden nail polish fan - I don't like wearing gold colours on my nails except for accent nails. This is such a great white gold colour - which I love since I can't stand yellow golds. I applied two coats of polish in the swatch . I feel this colour will look awesome in the upcoming Autumn and Winter .
02. The Sultan's Daughter
So this will come as no shocker , this is my favourite colour in the collection. Although it does look more like a pinky nude in the bottle , the colour is such a pretty light mauve pinky colour. I feel like this sums up what I love in nail polishes - and without a doubt I will be wearing this colour a lot more in Autumn. I used two coats in the swatch .
03. Princess Jasmine's Choice
This was a surprising one for me to like. I don't tend to go for these sparkly almost metallic looking polishes - but this is such a stunning darker purple mauve colour. I love how the tones in this colour compliments me - I will be wearing this one a lot more in winter time. I used two coats in the swatch.
04. Belly Dancing Queen
This is another favourite - it's such a dark rich berry colour - as I don't like wearing red nail polish - this is a great alternative for me. I love how this colour looks and happy to report this polish doesn't flood the cuticles like some reds/ deep berry colours tends to do. I used two coats in the swatch.

Did anything from this collection catch your eye ? Are you planning to pick anything up ?

This The Light of Orient collection is available from Clicks stores - so I suggest if you see something in the collection you like to keep your eyes peeled - as Essence Limited Edition collections usually fly off the shelves.

Happy Thursday guys !

Farm Animals Friday !

Hi guys ! Can't believe its Friday already ! First off, happy birthday to my brother, hope you have a fantastic birthday today ♥ So Tip Top's facebook page, has been running weekly nail art theme competitions. This week's theme is FARM ANIMALS. Well, usually I don't enter these nail art competitions, but since my little man loves farm animals , I decided to give it a go . :) (I also bummed some of his farm animal toys and books as decoration... Hee hee hee ) The rules are you have to use Tip Top colours... So first off let me mention all the colours I used creating these cute farm animals : French Manicure White, Cream Puff, Peach Crisp, Sherbet Angel, Melting Marshmallow, Lemon Fuel, Black Forest , Twilight and Sexy Bikini ♥ So here follows all the cute pics (sorry this post is a little picture heavy ...) A cow, a piggy, a cow, a duck and a sheep ♥ I just LOVE these cute farm animals don't you ?? My favourite of

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ?? Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms. The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each

CATRICE TREATMENTS SERUM REVIEW

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How was your week? I totally lost a day with the public holidays and Easter Weekend threw into the mix ... I was pretty convinced today was actually Tuesday. As I mentioned in my New on my Beauty Desk post in February - I got a few Catrice serums from their new range to try out. In total I picked up the Hydro serum as well - so today I will give you a rundown on the three serums I chose from the range to my routine.  Overall - I have a pretty good idea of which ones I love - which ones are good and which ones I'm not 100% sold on.  CATRICE HYDRO PLUMPING SERUM  This serum contains 1.5 %  hyaluronic acid and panthenol to plumps up the skin as well as have a soothing effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is well known to hydrate the skin and absorbs easily into the skin super quickly. I love using Hyaluronic Acid in the morning before applying make-up as it gives me a hydrated base to work with. Honestly, while I did enjoy using this serum - I do prefer the Sw
