{Subscription Service Review} Our June Kids Book Club Book

Hi guys! Happy Friday! How has your week been? Are you ready for the super duper cold weekend in Johannesburg ??

Last month I saw an awesome new subscription service pop up in my Instagram sponsored posts called Kids Book Club and I decided to check it out. They have a great selection of packages available for most age groups too. As I mentioned in a previous post - Alex reads a book every night before bedtime. (He reads more though - he has to read a bedtime story to me every night ) I love picking up a few new ones often for a before bedtime read. I decided this subscription would be an awesome add on for us to give a try and see how we like it.

We picked the single book Fox Favourites (5-10years) package and the theme for our June box was "Cozy". Our package included the starter pack, a cute book and two activity packs (the Cozy one that is the theme for the month as well as our starter pack one - which will come in handy this school holiday ). The starter pack also includes the wooden tribe mountain, as well as two, recycle stickers (that Alex's already stuck on our recycle bins). We also got a cute badge and the first figure for our wooden tribe mountain (which I will post a photo of later in this post)

Overall I think the intro pack is a very nice addition to the books - the activity book has some nice colouring activities as well as the cute woodland animals stickers for the scenery at the back.

Our June book is Pip Street the Crazy Crumpet Kerfuffle written by Jo Simmons. I love how this is not a book I would normally have picked for Alex - but I'm excited for him to read it. He has already started reading it the moment we unboxed the book for the photos.

So more about the book :
"Pip Street is having it's very own crumpet bake-off and everyone is taking part.

Harmless fun ??

Not exactly .....

The competition is doomed unless brave Bobby Cobbler can outsmart his nasty neighbour Pompey Pasty, who is determined to win by any means. "

As I mentioned the two activity books has quite a few fun activities. The "Cozy" theme this month has some cute snap cards you can cut out and play with, a colouring-in picture or three, a fun recipe to make some homemade hot chocolate, a number matching activity a dress-up bear and the sticker activity.

There is also a certificate of completion at the back of the book that you as a parent can fill in and give to your child. Overall this is a nice filler they added.

We picked the R159 package which included delivery as well as one book and activity book and cute theme of the month bag. I'm pretty impressed and can't wait to see what the July book will be. Our July will be filled with lots of Eisteddfodd practice and events - but I'm keen to upgrade our August package to a two-book one.

The wooden tribe mountain is already standing proud in Alex's room dresser with the first figurine added.

Do you have any subscription services for your kids?

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ?? Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms. The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each ...

CATRICE TREATMENTS SERUM REVIEW

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How was your week? I totally lost a day with the public holidays and Easter Weekend threw into the mix ... I was pretty convinced today was actually Tuesday. As I mentioned in my New on my Beauty Desk post in February - I got a few Catrice serums from their new range to try out. In total I picked up the Hydro serum as well - so today I will give you a rundown on the three serums I chose from the range to my routine.  Overall - I have a pretty good idea of which ones I love - which ones are good and which ones I'm not 100% sold on.  CATRICE HYDRO PLUMPING SERUM  This serum contains 1.5 %  hyaluronic acid and panthenol to plumps up the skin as well as have a soothing effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is well known to hydrate the skin and absorbs easily into the skin super quickly. I love using Hyaluronic Acid in the morning before applying make-up as it gives me a hydrated base to work with. Honestly, while I did enjoy using this serum - I d...
