Hi guys! Happy Tuesday! Hope you had an awesome weekend and Monday. I'm super excited for Halloween and Christmas time coming up - I love seeing all the fun goodies in the shops and getting awesome goodies for both.
As I mentioned here many times before- Alex does read every night before bedtime - this is a strong rule we stick to every night. He loves reading and he often walks around with a fact book or Encyclopedia in his hand reading everyone facts about volcanoes, dinosaurs or the human body.
I love that Kids Book Club send us a cute book, an activity book and a cute bag every month. This month's Halloween bag is SUPER cute too. These bags are awesome if you go shopping to throw in your bag and let the kids help out packing groceries.
So more about the service again if you missed it last time :
We picked the single book Fox Favourites (5-10years) package and the theme for our October box was Halloween - meaning the activity book includes a few activities around the theme that month.
The activity book this month included a colouring, tracing activities, matching activities, the stickers and a cutting and counting activity. For us, this is a perfect filler for before bedtime where we already cleaned up all the toys and packed away any games and T.V time is done. I will also show the new figurine for our mountain in the end too.
One of my favourite things so far has been that these aren't books I would have normally picked for Alex - but so far each one has been perfect for him and he has been really enjoying reading before bedtime. I do split up the book so we only read a few pages every night but Alex always ends up reading some extra pages because he loves the books so much. He will always check if the Kids Book Club parcel is delivered yet before I'm home.
So onto our October Book - Tilly & Thandeka The Crown of Ancient Ghana
Firstly - I love how this book is published in Kids Book Club itself. How cool is that?
"Tilly is a girl who dreams of adventures. When she is sent to live with her mysterious explorer Aunt in her old house atop a sugar cane hill, she has no idea what to expect. She finds a house full of books and strange artefacts, the odd delicious biscuit, an absent-minded aunt often away on adventures a border collie called Livingston and Thandeka - a new friend.
Then the valuable crown of ancient Ghana is stolen from a Musem exhibition. Tilly and Thandeka begin to connect the dots and fall headlong into their first adventure, but will they be brave enough to make it through ??"
Honestly - Alex loved how this adventure played off and he was glued to the pages ( Did I mention he loves reading about exploring ... world travelling and dictionaries and encyclopedias ? ) ... so again while this isn't a book I would normally pick for Alex - he adored this book.

Our October Halloween figurine at the top |
We picked the R159 package which included delivery as well as one book and activity book and cute theme of the month bag. I'm pretty impressed and can't wait to see what the October book will be.
