{Subscription Service Review & Reveal } February Love Edition Kids Book Club Book Unboxing

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday! 2020 has really kicked my butt so far this year ... with work, Mom life, Alex's birthday and getting super sick first with a jaw infection and then flu... I've been out most of the last few weeks. Not the best start to the year but not going to let that get me down.

As I mentioned here many times before- Alex does read every night before bedtime - this is a strong rule we stick to every night. He loves reading and he often walks around with a fact book or Encyclopedia in his hand reading everyone facts about volcanoes, dinosaurs or the human body.

I love that Kids Book Club send us a cute book, an activity something and a cute bag every month. This month's theme Love Edition is super cute too. These bags are awesome if you go shopping to throw in your bag and let the kids help out packing groceries.

So more about the service again if you missed it last time :

We picked the two-book Fox Favourites (5-10years) package - this month we received a book, some activities to do (which is awesome btw !), the monthly activity booklet, The new storytelling mat and character, the cute new monthly bookmark and of course the cute bag.

The activity book this month included colouring, tracing activities, matching activities, and stickers.  For us, this is a perfect filler for before bedtime where we already cleaned up all the toys and packed away any games and T.V time is done.

One of my favourite things so far has been that these aren't books I would have normally picked for Alex - but so far each one has been perfect for him and he has been really enjoying reading before bedtime. I do split up the book so we only read a few pages every night but Alex always ends up reading some extra pages because he loves the books so much. He will always check if the Kids Book Club parcel is delivered yet before I'm home. Since we moved over to the Variety package - it sends along with an activity book or like some fun subtraction and division flashcards. This is perfect as Alex has to do a worksheet related activity each day before he can use his phone.

Our book this month is Horrid Henry Rocks! Alex was introduced to these books through Kids Book Club and it's some of his favourite books to read now.

This book includes 4 mini-stories - Horrid Henry's Invasion, Moody Margaret's Sleepover, Horrid Henry's Autobiography and Horrid Henry Rocks. These are all little funny brilliantly written and wicked stories that make you ache with laughter.

I'm sure Alex will love these stories when he reaches for this book a little later this week.

They included the activity Story Telling mat as a once-off too. You can now collect the cute figurines to use around on your Story Mat and collect them. We already put this out on our board games coffee table to show off our little collection while it's growing.

I really love the addition of the monthly bookmark too - which includes some fun facts and makes a cute collectable for any book lover. (Alex REALLY loves collecting cute bookmarks)

The February bag.

I'm glad the subscription doesn't come in a box, because let's be real at the end of the day we all throw away the box. These bags are perfect for carrying extra books to school (again with Grade 4 comes lots and lots of school books ), an extra set of clothes when he is visiting family, going along shopping and backing some groceries into the bags he will carry as well as taking to school for activities.

The bags are pretty durable especially with a very active boy that runs from tennis to chess to Public Speaking practice with his water and a snack in the bag. (And a spare jacket if it suddenly gets chilly )

Overall - I was planning to move back to just the book package because life has been kicking our but and keeping us way too busy - but I love the Variety package and will stay on it a little bit longer. Honestly - it's worth it for any mom - not only do you get a cute book monthly - but you also get some fun activities for your kiddo. And let's be real - I'm sure you have just as much #momguilt as me - just makes me at least feel a little better about not always having super fun activities planned out to do with Alex after work - because some days life just kicks you in the butt.

We picked the R240 package which included delivery as well as one book, an educational activity and activity book and cute theme of the month bag. I'm pretty impressed and can't wait to see what the next book will be (Although we just got the new delivery this week ... so can't wait to share that soon!)

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ?? Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms. The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each

CATRICE TREATMENTS SERUM REVIEW

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How was your week? I totally lost a day with the public holidays and Easter Weekend threw into the mix ... I was pretty convinced today was actually Tuesday. As I mentioned in my New on my Beauty Desk post in February - I got a few Catrice serums from their new range to try out. In total I picked up the Hydro serum as well - so today I will give you a rundown on the three serums I chose from the range to my routine.  Overall - I have a pretty good idea of which ones I love - which ones are good and which ones I'm not 100% sold on.  CATRICE HYDRO PLUMPING SERUM  This serum contains 1.5 %  hyaluronic acid and panthenol to plumps up the skin as well as have a soothing effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is well known to hydrate the skin and absorbs easily into the skin super quickly. I love using Hyaluronic Acid in the morning before applying make-up as it gives me a hydrated base to work with. Honestly, while I did enjoy using this serum - I do prefer the Sw
