{Review} Lanolab Intense Body Butter and Multi-Use Natural Balm

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How has your week been so far? I won't lie, the chillier evenings are getting to me now that we are officially moving into winter - I'm not ready to come home in complete darkness yet!

A little while ago I decided to splurge and treat myself to the Lanolab products as I have been eyeing them forever. (And with winter coming up investing in some pamper treats is always a win! ) I got the intense body butter and multi-use natural balm from the brand to try out and man oh man, I'm really impressed and blown away by them so far.

So let's jump straight into the review on these products :

The Multi-use Natural Balm :

Lanolab multi-use balm is best known to soothe chapped and dry lips. It’s locally made in South Africa and 100% natural with no added fragrance. The hero ingredient, lanolin, locks in moisture while the papaya extract is packed with anti-inflammatory properties. Lanolab assists with soothing everything from dry lips, minor skin irritations and burns; to chafing, sunburn cracked nipples and nappy rash.

This balm has quite a thick texture. I dropped my hair iron on my leg over the Easter weekend - and my skin got burnt quite badly - and this balm made the sting and grossness of badly burnt skin so much better. I'm still using it on my leg to treat the burn mark, but it smoothed it out perfectly and helped my skin heal much faster.  I do love this as a lip balm next to my bed too - as well as smoothing cracked cuticles from using too much sanitiser during the day.

The Intense Body Butter :

A luxurious and softening body cream that is dermatologically tested and infused with a blend of naturally derived Lanolin, Papain, Shea Butter, and Plant Glycerine that is free from fragrance allergens and harsh chemicals.

  • • Not tested on animals – cruelty-free
  • • + 90% Naturally derived
  • • Contains no harsh ingredients
  • • Clean beauty
  • • Dermatologically tested
  • • Fragrance-Free

This is such a gorgeous rich body cream - perfect to hydrate the skin. I love this as I really struggle with extremely dry elbows and knees - but thanks to this magical cream this is a thing of the past. I love using this as a quick hand cream too before heading out the door as the coldness and constant sanitiser and handwashing haven't been kind on my hands. This really gives you those spa days vibes - without a strong fragrance. As I mentioned a million times on the blog, I am extremely sensitive to scents - so this being fragrance-free is magical too. I love how this really does keep my skin hydrated all day - and my dry skin is REALLY thanking me for that.

I included some pictures so you can see the difference in textures as well :

I got mine from My Favourite Things store as a combo deal for R299 (The multi-use balm usually retails for R120 and the Intense Body Butter for R249 )

Have you tried this Proudly South African brand before?

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ?? Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms. The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each ...

CATRICE TREATMENTS SERUM REVIEW

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How was your week? I totally lost a day with the public holidays and Easter Weekend threw into the mix ... I was pretty convinced today was actually Tuesday. As I mentioned in my New on my Beauty Desk post in February - I got a few Catrice serums from their new range to try out. In total I picked up the Hydro serum as well - so today I will give you a rundown on the three serums I chose from the range to my routine.  Overall - I have a pretty good idea of which ones I love - which ones are good and which ones I'm not 100% sold on.  CATRICE HYDRO PLUMPING SERUM  This serum contains 1.5 %  hyaluronic acid and panthenol to plumps up the skin as well as have a soothing effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is well known to hydrate the skin and absorbs easily into the skin super quickly. I love using Hyaluronic Acid in the morning before applying make-up as it gives me a hydrated base to work with. Honestly, while I did enjoy using this serum - I d...
