Hi guys! Happy Thursday. How has your week been? Mine has been a little crazy ... I won't lie trying to work and homeschool at the same time is not for the faint-hearted.
Today I'm sharing our April Easter Themed Kids Bookclub with you. I'm honestly so glad I upgraded our package last year... I wanted to go back to the single book in February but it slipped my mind... and now I 100% know I love the package we are on. I won't be going back to the single book.
We were a little behind on our Kids Book Club books as Alex has other books he reads in between - but with no books being sold in Level 5 in the Lock-down we quickly caught up and we actually ran out of books to read now. Thank goodness Takealot sells books again and Kids Book Club can deliver again in Level 4 - so if you haven't already I would suggest you look into this subscription service for sure.
As I mentioned here many times before- Alex does read every night before bedtime - this is a strong rule we stick to every night. He loves reading and he often walks around with a fact book or Encyclopedia in his hand reading everyone facts about volcanoes, dinosaurs or the human body.
I love that Kids Book Club send us a cute book, an activity something and a cute bag every month. April's theme is Easter super cute too. These bags are awesome if you go shopping to throw in your bag and let the kids help out packing groceries. We even used it for our Easter Egg hunt
So more about the service again if you missed it last time :
We picked the two-book Fox Favourites (5-10years) package - this month we received a book, a book about Telescope Data ( which my kiddo loved - which is awesome btw !), the monthly activity booklet, The new storytelling mat and character, the cute new monthly bookmark and of course the cute bag.
The activity book this month included colouring, tracing activities, matching activities, and stickers. For us, this is a perfect filler for before bedtime where we already cleaned up all the toys and packed away any games and T.V time is done.
So onto the two books we got - The reading book Nanny Ninja and the more educational book Hubble Telescope Data. Nanny Ninja by Jenny Jinks "When a strange noise wakes Ant in the night, he hopes to catch a glimpse of the mysterious ninja - a local crime-fighting hero. What he doesn't expect to see his Nanny climbing out the window... dressed as the Ninja !"Hubble Telescope DataA book all about outer space and how telescopes work - Alex really loved this book as he loves learning about things - which I love that there was a book to explain all the workings and how to identify planets etc in this book. Pretty awesome to have handy especially for school work later down the road as well.
As I mentioned these activities are perfect before bedtime filler ... or when you need a few minutes of sanity to keep him busy. Some of the activities are more for smaller kids - but a few hand-eye coordination exercises never hurt anyone.
We picked the R240 package which included delivery as well as one book, an educational activity and activity book and cute theme of the month bag. I'm pretty impressed and can't wait to see what the next book will be (Although with lock-down we will get the next two sets together ... I will still review each one separately as well )
So many lovely books here, thanks for sharing!
