My Top Red Nail Polishes for Valentinesday ...

Hi guys ! Hope you had a fun weekend. This weekend we celebrated my Gran's birthday and had a blast. (Just had way to much cake the last two weeks ... hee hee hee )

So with Friday being Valentinesday .. I will be showing some of my favourite red nail polishes with you guys. To be honest .. I'm not the biggest fan of rocking red nails personally, but red nails are perfect for Valentinesday ..  so in no particular order .. Here are my 12 favourites...

All of the polishes are two coats with topcoat (the textures without topcoat of course)

1.China Glaze Cranberry Splash
China Glaze Cranberry Splash is a metallic shimmery red.
2. China Glaze With Love -
This is a fire red polish with the slightest orange tint to it.
3. Loreal Rouge Pin Up
A classic red nail polish . I love how this is a deeper red polish
4. China Glaze Don't Make Me Wine
This is a dark magenta coloured polish.. But in most light is looks like a deep wine red colour. As I mentioned when I posted the swatch of this colour.. This will make gorgeous date nails.

5. OPI The Impossible -
I love textured polish and this is no exception. The colour is amazing, the polish won't chip easily and the texture gives it an added edgy look . This is more of a fuchsia toned red .
6. OPI Magazine Cover Mouse
This is another red liquid sand with pink and golden shimmer. Swoon... This one is really really gorgeous.
7. Tip Top Cherries in The Snow -
A classic fire red blue toned nail polish.
8. Essence Me & My Lover
This is another texture polish , this one is the same tone as OPI Magazine Mouse cover with a golden shimmer. And it's under R20 ... So if you're not a big fan of red polishes.. This will make a not to expensive date night nail polish. And it's texture. *Swoon ...*
9. Revlon Cherry Crush -
A gorgeous wine red nail polish with the most gorgeous shimmer.
10. Revlon Red -
Another classic red. This one now comes in their mini nail enamel versions .. So as I mentioned if you want to try it out.. The smaller one would really be a fun addition.
11. Tip Top Nail Addict Boston Lights
This is another of my favourite favourite reds... gorgeous wine red colour with shimmer.
12. Tip Top Traffic Lights
This is a metallic polish with a stunning shimmer. I adore this colour for nail art .

So I hope this helps you out a bit. What is YOUR favourite red nail polish to wear ? How was your weekend ?

  1. I really love the idea of this post Lynn, I enjoyed reading the comparisons, and I'd say my favourites are: don't make me wine, cherry crush and boston lights. some make your nails look longer, the brighter ones look fab on you. it's an evergreen classic, and though my mother wears red all the freaking time, so i grew the idea that it is banal and almost never wear it despite i love the color in general and how i look in it, you made me change my mind here.
i have always thought that red would make my hands look longer and thinnier and make my veins stand out. do you feel the same when you wear it?

    1. I feel red makes me feel to grown up on my nails.. So I tend to skip them except for an accent nail perhaps.

  8. You've chosen beautiful shades of red. I have to say my faves are the textured polishes and the china glaze one's :)

I feel the same about red nail polish and don't often wear it- haha, makes me look too mature. I prefer fun, bright exciting colours to make me feel like a child haha :)

Hi guys ! Can't believe its Friday already ! First off, happy birthday to my brother, hope you have a fantastic birthday today ♥ So Tip Top's facebook page, has been running weekly nail art theme competitions. This week's theme is FARM ANIMALS. Well, usually I don't enter these nail art competitions, but since my little man loves farm animals , I decided to give it a go . :) (I also bummed some of his farm animal toys and books as decoration... Hee hee hee ) The rules are you have to use Tip Top colours... So first off let me mention all the colours I used creating these cute farm animals : French Manicure White, Cream Puff, Peach Crisp, Sherbet Angel, Melting Marshmallow, Lemon Fuel, Black Forest , Twilight and Sexy Bikini ♥ So here follows all the cute pics (sorry this post is a little picture heavy ...) A cow, a piggy, a cow, a duck and a sheep ♥ I just LOVE these cute farm animals don't you ?? My favourite of

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ?? Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms. The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each

CATRICE TREATMENTS SERUM REVIEW

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How was your week? I totally lost a day with the public holidays and Easter Weekend threw into the mix ... I was pretty convinced today was actually Tuesday. As I mentioned in my New on my Beauty Desk post in February - I got a few Catrice serums from their new range to try out. In total I picked up the Hydro serum as well - so today I will give you a rundown on the three serums I chose from the range to my routine.  Overall - I have a pretty good idea of which ones I love - which ones are good and which ones I'm not 100% sold on.  CATRICE HYDRO PLUMPING SERUM  This serum contains 1.5 %  hyaluronic acid and panthenol to plumps up the skin as well as have a soothing effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is well known to hydrate the skin and absorbs easily into the skin super quickly. I love using Hyaluronic Acid in the morning before applying make-up as it gives me a hydrated base to work with. Honestly, while I did enjoy using this serum - I do prefer the Sw
