Essence Advent Calendar Reveal 13-19 December

Hi guys ! Happy Tuesday . How has your weekend been ? I'm a little late with this weeks rundown - I totally  forgot to post yesterday. Next week Monday will be the last rundown on the calendar as well as my last post for 2016 .

"Ho ho ho! The countdown is on – not long to go until the first door can be opened! With the limited “advent calendar”, essence is offering bestsellers and exclusive products in their original size. There’s a cute quote as well as an essence must-have for the eyes, lips, face or nails or a cool tool or accessory hidden behind each door. The large, beautifully decorated box looks like a Christmas present, so it’s a perfect gift for your best friend, sister or even to yourself! Merry Christmas… with essence!"

The Essence Advent Calendar is available from Dischem stores for R415 - although both Dischem stores close to be have them on sale for R375 currently. That works out to about R17,30 per item. The calendar includes 24 FULL sized products - most in special edition holiday packaging. As there was a few items I wanted to try - I was excited when I was gifted this beauty by my mom . Each day also includes a little quote - which is a fun way to start your day.

If you follow me on social media - I'm sharing a quick snapshot every morning on Twitter and Facebook and a Instagram video as I open it .

I won't be doing a full review in this post - but if you are curious about any of the products feel free and I'll gladly do a mini review of the ones requested.  For the people that alreasy requested products - I've written them down and will post them soon. :)

Day 13 :
Essence I Love Extreme Volume Mascara . I love the waterproof version so I'm excited to try this one out too. I will be doing a post on my Essence mascara collection soon so stay tuned for a full review on this mascara.
Day 14:
Essence French Manicure Tip guides - these will always come in handy for nail art looks.
Day 15 :
A pack with 5 mini eyeshadow applicators. These come in super handy when I'm using pigments to press onto the lids - so I always love more .
Day 16 :
Essence Play With My Mint nail polish. Swoon - I'm a sucker for minty polishes and excited to try this one out.
Day 17 :
Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Natural Beauty - The colour is gorgeous and I'm excited to see how it wears.
Day 18 :
Essence Kajal Pencil in Black. I'm kinda meh about this product - I don't wear a lot of black eyeliner in my waterline and I prefer Kajal pencils for that.
Day 19 :
Essence Lip Brush - Another gorgeous snowflake design brush - I don't own any lip brushes so I'm excited to try this one out.

Do you have an Advent calendar ? Any of these products you would love a review on ?

  1. I would love to hear your opinion on the mascara. I tried this very one and it was one of the worst I've ever had. Nearly as bad as the Rimmel ones. So I would really like to know what you think of it. Happy holidays, girl.

    1. Oh no , I haven't tried it yet but will give it a go and let you know I found it. I like the waterproof one - but it;s super tricky to remove at night.

Farm Animals Friday !

Hi guys ! Can't believe its Friday already ! First off, happy birthday to my brother, hope you have a fantastic birthday today ♥ So Tip Top's facebook page, has been running weekly nail art theme competitions. This week's theme is FARM ANIMALS. Well, usually I don't enter these nail art competitions, but since my little man loves farm animals , I decided to give it a go . :) (I also bummed some of his farm animal toys and books as decoration... Hee hee hee ) The rules are you have to use Tip Top colours... So first off let me mention all the colours I used creating these cute farm animals : French Manicure White, Cream Puff, Peach Crisp, Sherbet Angel, Melting Marshmallow, Lemon Fuel, Black Forest , Twilight and Sexy Bikini ♥ So here follows all the cute pics (sorry this post is a little picture heavy ...) A cow, a piggy, a cow, a duck and a sheep ♥ I just LOVE these cute farm animals don't you ?? My favourite of

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ?? Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms. The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each

CATRICE TREATMENTS SERUM REVIEW

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How was your week? I totally lost a day with the public holidays and Easter Weekend threw into the mix ... I was pretty convinced today was actually Tuesday. As I mentioned in my New on my Beauty Desk post in February - I got a few Catrice serums from their new range to try out. In total I picked up the Hydro serum as well - so today I will give you a rundown on the three serums I chose from the range to my routine.  Overall - I have a pretty good idea of which ones I love - which ones are good and which ones I'm not 100% sold on.  CATRICE HYDRO PLUMPING SERUM  This serum contains 1.5 %  hyaluronic acid and panthenol to plumps up the skin as well as have a soothing effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is well known to hydrate the skin and absorbs easily into the skin super quickly. I love using Hyaluronic Acid in the morning before applying make-up as it gives me a hydrated base to work with. Honestly, while I did enjoy using this serum - I do prefer the Sw
