Avène Eau Thermale XeraCalm A.D Range

Hi guys ! Happy Monday . Hope you had a nice weekend spoiling mom ... or just chilling. It's such a cold rainy morning today in Johannesburg that I'm glad I have Mondays off - so I can chill with a big mug of coffee and a blanket.

A few weeks ago I was browsing around in Dischem checking out some of the Avene range. My son Alex has been struggling with some texture on his skin and I wanted to check some options to try. Overall he does have pretty good skin - but the sides of his cheeks gets extremely bad texture that gets itchy if it's too hot or too cold . I decided to pick up this pretty nifty set I spotted as it included a free Cicalfate and little Thermal Spring Water (which I already know works wonders on him ) to give a go.

The set retails for R550 and
includes :
Avene Cicalfate Cream 40 ml
Avene XeraCalm Lipid Replenish Cleansing Oil 400 ml
Avene XeraCalm Lipid Replenishing Balm 200 ml
Avene Thermal Spring Water 50 ml

A little bit more on the products included :

Avene Cicalfate Cream 40 ml
This is a great cream for sensitive and irritated skin as it soothes skin. This is especially great if the skin has been scratched too. (And it works great on any dry skin areas too!).This is a richer balmy texture so we only use this once a week especially after I know he did a lot of sports at school or had a school function and I know his skin needs a boost )

Avene XeraCalm Lipid Cleansing Oil 400 ml
This is one of the stars of this range. The XeraCalm A.D Lipid Replenishing Cleansing Oil is specifically formulated to cleanse dry sensitive skin. You can also use this in a bathtub by pumping a few pumps into your hand and mixing it into the bath water. Alex uses this as a face wash and on his arms that gets some extreme dryness too . I have to be honest on some days were my skin is extremely sensitive too I steal a pump too to wash my face at night time ) . This has truly made such a huge difference ! His skin doesn't feel dried out after using this wash.

Avene XeraCalm Lipid Replenishing Balm 200 ml
I love this balm. The XeraCalm A.D Lipid Replenishing Balm is formulated for moderate to severe itchy skin . We use this as a cream for his face and arms . I love how the product stays sterile as the pump only pumps out the product needed and can't be placed back into the container. This was another life saver. Within a day or two Alex's texture on his cheeks were basically completely gone. I really can't recommend this range enough.

Avene Thermal Spring Water 50 ml
I've done a full review HERE and it's been mentioned in countless favourites and empties posts. This is a great product in our household. I buy the huge bottle now , but this small one is perfect to pop into a work bag or sport bag. This little container has a permanent space in my mommy sport bag - as it's perfect to spray on his face after his tennis practise to cool him off as well as hydrate his skin after being in the sun.

Overall we have been using this range on him for just over two months - and while it might seem like a pricier option than most kiddies products - his skin is happy with this range . We aren't even halfway through the products as a little really goes a long way - so this containers will last us quite some time.

Dischem has little Avene sets ( I got myself the Cold Cream Value pack too which retails for R115 ) - with some new goodies I wanted to try and some old favourites ) which makes trying out the range more affordable.

How  was YOUR weekend ? Do you also suffer from dry irritated skin or used Avene products before ??

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer Review and Wear Test

Hi guys. Happy Monday. How was your weekend ?? Today I will be sharing my review on the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer . I have worn this quite a few times since buying the product - so I have a pretty good idea how it preforms. The colour I got was a typical Lynette colour - The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer in Donut Worry be Happy. This is such a gorgeous fun pink colour. The range does have quite a few colour options - and what I do like about the range is that no top coat is needed. So while I always top coat polish or gel polishes - I didn't when I tested this out. Since I did mention I have worn it quite a few times - I always wore it without top coat. The polish dries amazingly fast - and is dry enough to not make dent marks on it within 20 minutes. Which I think is pretty impressive for a polish without top coat. The brush is on the thicker side - making the polish super easy to apply. I prefer nailpolish brushes like this since it's mostly just one swipe on each

CATRICE TREATMENTS SERUM REVIEW

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday. How was your week? I totally lost a day with the public holidays and Easter Weekend threw into the mix ... I was pretty convinced today was actually Tuesday. As I mentioned in my New on my Beauty Desk post in February - I got a few Catrice serums from their new range to try out. In total I picked up the Hydro serum as well - so today I will give you a rundown on the three serums I chose from the range to my routine.  Overall - I have a pretty good idea of which ones I love - which ones are good and which ones I'm not 100% sold on.  CATRICE HYDRO PLUMPING SERUM  This serum contains 1.5 %  hyaluronic acid and panthenol to plumps up the skin as well as have a soothing effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is well known to hydrate the skin and absorbs easily into the skin super quickly. I love using Hyaluronic Acid in the morning before applying make-up as it gives me a hydrated base to work with. Honestly, while I did enjoy using this serum - I do prefer the Sw

Hi guys ! Can't believe its Friday already ! First off, happy birthday to my brother, hope you have a fantastic birthday today ♥ So Tip Top's facebook page, has been running weekly nail art theme competitions. This week's theme is FARM ANIMALS.
